The Role

Newr is seeking a senior electrical engineer who can lead in a dynamic environment. You'll be the expert in your field for our projects that require these skills and provide direction to electrical technicians, interns, entry level engineers, and contract engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design of embedded systems for new products, including schematic design, PCB layout, and component selection
  • Perform hands-on testing and debugging of PCB assemblies using standard electronics equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the firmware and software teams to create system documentation, set development objectives, and execute test plans
  • Translate high-level concepts, sketches, and discussions into functional and manufacturable circuit designs
  • Objective setting for development and test planning

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on embedded hardware design
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer is required
  • Direct experience designing and debugging PCBs, particularly with wireless power transfer technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and an innovative approach to problem-solving

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with battery hardware (BMS, charging circuits) and wireless protocols (BLE, WiFi)
  • Familiarity with regulatory certification procedures (UL, FCC)
  • Experience with microcontroller programming
